Dear Friends,
It has been five years now since we opened our Apothiki Art Center on the Cycladic island of Paros.
Over one hundred artists and performers from 26 countries made their way to Paros and have been able to use our space for a wide variety of exhibitions, workshops and concerts. Numerous visitors have been able to enjoy the artists presence and work as well as the local hospitality and natural beauty.
We are pleased to be able to send you the 2008 programme as it stands today and to invite you to the Opening-event of the 2008 season which will take place in Brussels on Friday 18 April from 19.00 in the Arteventuno Gallery (Rue Blaesstraat 96) and in Paros on 1 May at the Apothiki Art Center
You will find more about these and other special events to celebrate our fifth year of activities in the overview below or on our website. Theme for this celebration year is ‘MOnuMENTS’
We are particularly proud to be able to welcome again a number of high quality performers and artists who have chosen our space for their ‘Artist in Residence’ programme which will become one of the core activities of the Center. A call for artists for fall 2008 and 2009 will be launched soon.
The cooperation with the vibrant local (but international!) and growing artist community remains a great asset and support for our activities and projects and adds to the warmth and creativity that is after all the main characteristic of Paros island.
